Third Evacuation Flight Brings 266 Nigerians Home from South Africa
The Federal Government has confirmed the arrival of the third evacuation flight carrying Nigerians returning from South Africa.
In a statement issued on Friday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the Air Peace flight departed Johannesburg and landed at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, at about 10:40 a.m. on Friday, July 3, 2026, with 266 returnees on board.
The Ministry stated that the evacuees were accompanied by officials of the Nigerian Mission in South Africa, who coordinated the evacuation process.
It added that two additional evacuation flights would be operated in the coming days to ensure that all Nigerians who registered for the exercise are safely returned home.
The Federal Government reaffirmed its commitment to the safe evacuation and welfare of Nigerian citizens affected by the recent developments in South Africa.
