Court Orders Final Forfeiture of N8.9bn Assets Linked to Aisha Achimugu
The Federal Capital Territory High Court sitting in Apo, Abuja, has ordered the final forfeiture of assets valued at approximately ₦8.9 billion linked to businesswoman Aisha Achimugu to the Federal Government.
The order was issued on Thursday by Justice Jude Onwugbuzie while delivering judgment on an application filed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The Commission had asked the court to permanently forfeit the assets, alleging that they were connected to unlawful activities.
The forfeited assets include jewellery valued at ₦4.65 billion, 11 exotic vehicles worth about ₦4.29 billion, $50,000 and ₦30 million in cash.
Justice Onwugbuzie granted the EFCC’s application and ordered that the jewellery, vehicles and cash be permanently forfeited to the Federal Government.
