Troops Intercept Suspected Terrorist Supply Network, Arrest Six in North-East
Troops of Sector 1, Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) have arrested six suspected terrorist logistics suppliers and intercepted a large consignment of materials believed to be destined for terrorist groups during an intelligence-led operation in the North-East.
The operation, conducted at about 4:00 p.m. on July 19, 2026, followed credible intelligence on the movement of suspected terrorist logistics along a key supply route in the theatre of operations.
According to a statement issued by the Acting Military Information Officer, Headquarters Joint Task Force (North East) Operation HADIN KAI, Captain Mohammed Goni, troops mounted a covert stop-and-search operation that resulted in the arrest of the six suspects, who were travelling in five vehicles transporting various items suspected to be intended for terrorist elements.
Items recovered during the operation include 202 cartons of herbicides, one jerrycan containing suspected acid, one Starlink satellite internet communication system, six bags of NPK fertiliser, 10 bags of rice, 50 hoes, and 20 packs of knapsack sprayer pumps.
The military said preliminary assessments indicate that many of the recovered items have potential dual-use applications capable of supporting terrorist logistics, communications, mobility and sustainment.
It added that the recovered NPK fertiliser and suspected acid would undergo forensic and technical analysis to determine whether they were intended for the production of Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs).
Operation HADIN KAI described the seizure as a significant blow to suspected terrorist logistics networks, noting that it further weakens the ability of insurgents to sustain their operations.
The six suspects and all recovered exhibits have been handed over to the appropriate Military Intelligence Regiment for detailed investigation to identify the intended recipients, uncover the wider logistics network and track down other collaborators, financiers and sponsors.
According to the military, preliminary debriefings of rescued hostages and surrendered family members of terrorists indicate that sustained disruption of supply chains has severely degraded the operational capacity of terrorist groups.
The debriefings revealed that shortages of food, medical supplies, communications equipment and other essential logistics have forced many terrorists to abandon their enclaves, families and captives while fleeing sustained military offensives.
Operation HADIN KAI reaffirmed its commitment to dismantling terrorist logistics and support networks through sustained intelligence-driven operations, stressing that terrorists, their financiers, suppliers, informants and collaborators will continue to be targeted to deny them the resources required to sustain acts of terrorism.
The military also appealed to members of the public to continue supporting security agencies by providing timely and credible information on suspicious movements and activities, describing public cooperation as critical to the success of ongoing counter-terrorism operations and the restoration of lasting peace in the North-East.
