Maryam Ibrahim Dan’Azumi, a native of Gombe State, has brought honour to Nigeria after emerging first in the women’s Hizb 60 and Tafsir category at the prestigious King Abdulaziz International Qur’an Competition in Makkah, Saudi Arabia.
Maryam represented Nigeria at the international competition, which brought together talented Qur’an reciters and memorizers from different parts of the world to demonstrate their knowledge, memorisation, recitation and understanding of the Holy Qur’an.
Her outstanding performance earned her the top position in her category, placing Nigeria among the countries celebrating success at the highly regarded international Qur’anic event.
The achievement has sparked pride across Gombe State and Nigeria, with Maryam’s success highlighting the dedication of young Nigerian women to Qur’anic education and scholarship.
Her victory also serves as an inspiration to other young people pursuing excellence in Qur’an memorisation, recitation and Tafsir.
