The United States Marine Corps Raiders and the Tanzania People’s Defence Force (TPDF) 93rd Special Forces Battalion have concluded a multi-week Joint Combined Exchange Training (JCET) programme in Tanga, Tanzania.
The training reinforced the longstanding security partnership between the United States and Tanzania, focusing on strengthening operational capabilities to address regional terrorism threats and enhance border security.
The joint exercise provided an opportunity for personnel from both countries to exchange expertise and sharpen skills relevant to tackling evolving security challenges in the region.
The programme forms part of ongoing engagement by the United States Africa Command (AFRICOM) and Special Operations Command Africa (SOCAFRICA) to strengthen partnerships with African security forces.
Through such training initiatives, the United States aims to support the development of capable partner forces equipped to respond to regional security threats and contribute to stability.
The completion of the exercise underscores continued military cooperation between Washington and Dodoma in addressing shared security concerns and strengthening regional counterterrorism efforts.
