Abdulsamad Meets Guinea’s President Doumbouya, Explores Opportunities for African Economic Transformation
Nigerian businessman and Chairman of BUA Group, Abdulsamad Rabiu, has held discussions with Guinea’s President, Mamadi Doumbouya, and members of his cabinet on opportunities to strengthen economic cooperation and promote sustainable development across Africa.
Rabiu disclosed this after a meeting with the Guinean leader at the State House in Conakry, where both sides explored areas of collaboration aimed at supporting economic transformation and creating lasting value across the continent.
He described the engagement as a “distinct honour,” noting that Guinea’s abundant natural resources, mineral wealth, and agricultural potential provide significant opportunities for industrial development, investment, and shared prosperity.
According to him, Africa’s economic future depends on Africans taking ownership of the continent’s resources by promoting local value addition, investing in human capital, and building stronger strategic partnerships.
“Africa’s future must be shaped by Africans. By adding value to our resources, investing in our people, and strengthening strategic partnerships across the continent, we can unlock Africa’s full potential and build lasting prosperity for generations to come,” Rabiu stated.
The meeting comes amid growing calls for increased intra-African investment, industrialisation, and economic partnerships aimed at reducing dependence on raw material exports and accelerating sustainable growth.
Rabiu, one of Africa’s leading industrialists, has continued to advocate for private-sector-driven development, emphasising the importance of manufacturing, infrastructure, agriculture, and job creation in achieving long-term economic progress on the continent.
