The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has strengthened its partnership with the Kogi State Government as the Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, mni, FCA, formally invested Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo as the Patron of the FRSC Special Marshals in Kogi State.

The investiture ceremony, held at the Banquet Hall of the Government House in Lokoja, marked another milestone in the Corps’ efforts to institutionalise road safety governance and promote safer roads through collaboration with state governments.

As part of the event, Governor Ododo donated 10 electric patrol motorcycles to the FRSC to enhance traffic management, strengthen enforcement operations and improve emergency response across the state.

Receiving the motorcycles on behalf of the Corps, the FRSC Corps Marshal described the donation as a strategic intervention that would significantly improve the operational capacity of the Corps in Kogi State, one of Nigeria’s major transportation corridors.

Speaking during the ceremony, Governor Ododo dedicated the honour of his investiture to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, commending the President for his support for the FRSC and commitment to strengthening institutions responsible for protecting the lives of Nigerians.

The governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to promoting road safety through strategic partnerships and sustained support for agencies responsible for traffic management and public safety.

In his remarks, Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed commended Governor Ododo for accepting the responsibility of serving as Patron of the FRSC Special Marshals in the state, describing the move as a demonstration of visionary leadership and commitment to reducing road crashes.

He also applauded the governor for the donation of the electric patrol motorcycles, noting that the equipment would enhance the Corps’ patrol operations, traffic control and rapid response to emergencies.

The FRSC said the partnership reflects its commitment to working closely with state governments and other stakeholders to improve road safety, protect lives and reduce road traffic crashes across the country.
