Real Warri Pikin Apologises to Nigerians Over Viral Timaya Stage Moment
Nigerian comedian Real Warri Pikin has apologised to Nigerians following reactions to a viral moment involving singer Timaya at the 2026 AFRIMMA Awards in Dallas, United States.
Real Warri Pikin, who was honoured as Best Stand-Up Comedian at the ceremony, explained that Timaya had invited a woman to join him on stage during his performance.
According to the comedian, she initially declined because she did not want to jump, but eventually agreed to join the singer after he assured her that she would be fine.
She said the situation became awkward when Timaya lifted her during the performance, adding that while the moment was entertaining to those at the event, it attracted a different reaction online.
Addressing the controversy in a video, Real Warri Pikin appealed to Nigerians to understand the circumstances surrounding the incident and apologised for her actions.
“Make una take am easy, I beg. I’m sorry. I take full responsibility of my actions,” she said.
She acknowledged that some people were genuinely concerned but expressed disappointment over comments she said were based on assumptions about her character.
“I understand where una dey come from. Maybe some people are just genuinely concerned,” she said, pleading with Nigerians not to be too harsh on her.
Real Warri Pikin further clarified that she had no intention of disrespecting her husband or engaging in inappropriate behaviour, describing the incident as an awkward moment that occurred during an entertaining stage performance.
