Ugandan General’s Social Media Posts About Beyoncé Stir Online Reactions
Ugandan military commander and presidential son, General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, has sparked widespread reactions on social media after making a series of humorous posts about American music superstar Beyoncé.
In the posts, Muhoozi jokingly claimed he wanted Beyoncé and gave her husband, rapper Jay-Z, one week to “hand her over.” He further quipped that if it did not happen, he might take the matter to the United Nations, challenge Jay-Z to a duel, or appear with a placard reading, “I’m Here, Beyoncé.”
The general also joked that Jay-Z could not compete with him because he owns thousands of Ankole cattle, a prized Ugandan breed regarded as a symbol of wealth and prestige. He humorously suggested that this made him “richer” than the American music mogul.
The posts quickly went viral, attracting mixed reactions online. While many users viewed the comments as lighthearted and entertaining, others questioned whether such remarks were appropriate for a senior military officer.
Neither Beyoncé nor Jay-Z has publicly responded to the posts, and the incident has remained a social media talking point rather than a diplomatic issue, highlighting how viral online comments can quickly attract global attention.
