AREWA FOR ASIWAJU Inaugurates Students’ Wing Coordinator in Kaduna
The AREWA FOR ASIWAJU (A4A) has inaugurated its Students’ Wing Coordinator in Kaduna, bringing together student leaders and representatives from the 19 Northern states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) under a coordinated platform.
The inauguration was held at AREWA House, Kaduna, and conducted by the Director-General of AREWA FOR ASIWAJU, His Excellency Muhammad Badaru Abubakar, mni, former Minister of Defence and former Governor of Jigawa State.
The Executive Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Uba Sani, was represented at the occasion by the Deputy Governor, Dr. Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe.
The event was attended by several government officials, political stakeholders and youth representatives, including the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Public Enlightenment, Mal. Abdulaziz Abdulaziz; Kaduna State Commissioner for Information and Coordinator, AREWA FOR ASIWAJU Kaduna State, Hon. Ahmed Maiyaqi; Coordinator, Northern Projects Coordination Office (NPCO), Dr. Shamsuddeen Ahmad; Director, Students Affairs, AREWA FOR ASIWAJU, Mal. Zakari Mijinyawa; and Director-General, Sardauna Memorial Foundation, Engr. Gambo.
Also present were Student Union Government presidents, student leaders, youth representatives and other stakeholders from across Northern Nigeria.
Speaking after the inauguration, the newly appointed Coordinator expressed appreciation for the confidence placed in him and pledged to build a strong, organised and purposeful Students’ Wing capable of engaging students across campuses and states.
He said the mandate would focus on organising and mobilising students, strengthening communication among student leaders, promoting constructive political participation and encouraging young Nigerians to contribute meaningfully to national development.
According to him, the Students’ Wing would work to build stronger connections among student leaders across the Northern region and ensure that the concerns and aspirations of students remain part of the national conversation.
He also reaffirmed his support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and the Renewed Hope Agenda, expressing readiness to mobilise Northern students to contribute to the administration’s vision for Nigeria.
He described the new responsibility as more than an office, but a call to service and a national mandate.
“I accept this responsibility with humility, determination and a deep sense of duty. I pledge to serve with discipline, loyalty, integrity and an unwavering commitment to the collective interests of our students and our nation,” he said.
The inauguration marks a new phase for the A4A Students’ Wing as it seeks to strengthen student leadership, mobilisation and participation in national development and democratic processes across Northern Nigeria.
