Armed gunmen reportedly kill 24 in Adamawa community

No fewer than 24 persons have been reported dead as armed gunmen suspected to be bandits launch an attack on Dabna village in Hong Local Government Area (LGA) of Adamawa state.

Reports from the area suggest that the number of casualties may increase as the search for victims who fled the village was ongoing.
The gunmen were said to have arrived in the village in the early hours of Wednesday on motorcycles and shot sporadically, burnt down houses, and looting properties.
When contacted, the Chairman of Hong LGA, Mr James Pukuma confirmed the attack on the village which is neighboring Sambisa Forest, a Boko Haram den.
However, he revealed that details of the attack were still sketches and that he would comment when detailed information was at his disposal.
Also, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje decline to comment on the attack.
Meanwhile, bodies of those killed including a pregnant woman have been reportedly buried while victims with various degrees of injuries were receiving medication.
