Major General Aligbe gave the warning on Sunday, 11 February 2024, during his address to the candidates of the LCPPE, which is taking place at the Maxwell Khobe Cantonment, 3 Armoured Division Nigerian Army Area of Responsibility, in Jos, Plateau State.

He said “the exam is part of the professional military education designed to enhance the proficiency and junior leadership capabilities of our officers, as well as to instil the core values of the Nigerian Army in them.”

He said the exam would also test the discipline and courage of the officers, which would define their career progression in the Nigerian Army, and that the exam was in line with the Command Philosophy of the Chief of Army Staff, Lt General Taoreed Abiodun Lagbaja, which is “To Transform Nigerian Army into well trained, Equipped and Highly motivated Force towards achieving its Constitutional Responsibilities In a Joint Environment”.

He assured the candidates of fairness and openness in the conduct of the exam by the Panelists and the Directing Staff.

In his welcome address, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 3 Division and Commander Special Task Force, Operation Safe Haven, Major General AE Abubakar, urged the candidates to put in their best and maintain decorum and discipline, adding that the exam was a catalyst in shaping their career development, expanding their knowledge and understanding of various aspects of military operations, and enhancing their performance in the ongoing counter-terrorism and counter-insurgency operations across the country.

“Your performance in this exam is crucial for your career development. It becomes essential that you approach it with utmost seriousness and determination. I have keenly followed your activities in the last couple of days and I see an array of physically fit subalterns in the Nigerian Army”, he concluded.

The event was attended by observers from Army Headquarters, Headquarters 3 Armoured Division Nigerian Army, Principal Staff officers from Headquarters TRADOC, Nigerian Army, Examination Panelists and the Directing Staff for the 2024 LCPPE.
