Badaru Praises Successor’s “Honesty and Delivery”

In a ceremony marking his first official visit back to the state capital since handing over power, Minister of Defence Muhammed Badaru Abubakar commended the “honesty and delivery” of his successor, Governor Umar Namadi Danmodi.
The occasion was the flag-off of a major housing project aimed at providing 1,500 units across Jigawa State.

Badaru, a former two-term governor himself, served as the special guest of honour at the event, held in Fanisau, Dutse.
He symbolically laid the foundation stone for the project, which will see a mix of 3-bedroom detached and 2-bedroom semi-detached houses constructed across five emirate cities and three major towns.
In his speech, Badaru openly praised Danmodi’s leadership, recalling promises made during their campaign. “I told you he is honest, he is straightforward, he is active, and he will deliver,” Badaru declared, “and that is what he is doing.”
He further emphasised Danmodi’s dedication and effectiveness, stating, “We promise you a great leader. Indeed, he is great. He has delivered to demand, and this is the small portion of what he will do.”
Badaru expressed strong confidence in Danmodi’s future, suggesting that his upcoming achievements would overshadow even the impressive project being launched.
This housing initiative forms part of Governor Danmodi’s 12-point agenda, aiming to provide affordable housing and boost the state’s economy through job creation in the construction sector.
The project is expected to benefit residents across Dutse, Hadejia, Kazaure, Gumel, Ringim, Birnin Kudu, Babura, and Kafin Hausa.
The successful launch of the housing project promises not only improved living conditions for many residents but also a potential springboard for further development initiatives under Governor Danmodi’s administration.
