Bauchi Rerun : Amb Tuggar pledges support for APC, donates N19m

Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Amb. Yusuf Tuggar has pledged to support the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Bauchi State to reclaim four State assembly seats at Saturday’s by-election in the state.
Our correspondent reports that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is set to conduct the state assembly by-election in 42 polling units in the state.
Tuggar stated this through the Director General of Tuggar Foundation, Alhaji Bello Tukura while donating the sum of N19 million to the party and candidates of the party in the by-election on Thursday in Bauchi
“We came here to give our donations for the rerun in Bauchi, Katagum and Ningi Local Government Areas for the State Legislation,” he said.
“Each of the candidates will get N3 million totaling N12 million while the party gets N7 million.
“The money is for the election and by God’s grace Bauchi is for APC and we will mobilise our people to come out and vote massively,” he said.
Tuggar further said he would remain loyal and would continue to come to support the party to succeed and reclaim the four assembly seats in the state.
Amb Tuggar urged people of Bauchi state who are affected to come out and vote massively for the APC.
Responding, the Chairman of the Party in the state, Alhaji Mohammed Tilde, expressed gratitude on behalf of the leadership and members of the working committee for the kind gesture by the minister.
“It is not the first time the minister is showing this kind of support,” he said.
Tilde assured that the party had adequately prepared for the rerun election disclosing that as part of preparation to ensure success,
“We constituted a Technical Committee to know the number of registered and accredited voters,” he said.
Tilde said the committee completed its assignment after 11 days and submitted its report which has been forwarded to the National leadership of the party.
