Marriage in most parts of Nigeria is considered a whole family affair and it marks the start of a new extended relationship between the entire family members of the young man and lady in question.

The ancient city of Calabar in Cross River State was aglow on Saturday 28th August, 2021 as Engr. Michael Ajianpuye Uyang made Miss Eno-Obong Effiong Una his lawful wedded wife, to love and cherish forever.

As it is the tradition, the family of Pastor and Deaconess Effiong Essien Una gave their daughter in marriage to the family of Late Rtd. MWO Augustine Esidena Uyang and Mrs Antonia Ushang Uyang amid dancing and a whole lot of Cross River and Akwa Ibom delicacies for the stomach.

The occasion was graced by friends and well wishers who came in their numbers to celebrate and support the new couple. It was indeed a sight to behold. Interestingly, this day also marked the wedding anniversary of his brother, Mr and Mrs Emmanuel  Uyang.

Calabar is known for its cleanliness and as a hub for cultural excellence like the now famous Calabar Carnival nicknamed “Nigeria’s largest street party”. This is a month’s long celebration held in the whole of the month of December every year.
