Boko Haram Attack Maiduguri-Damaturu Highway Again
Armed gunmen, suspected to be the members of Islamic State of West Africa (ISWAP) have attacked the Maiduguri to Damaturu federal highway in an attempt to kidnap or kill commuters.

It was reported that a reinforcement team of the Nigerian Army (NA) was involved in a tragic accident while trying to repel the attack.
Maiduguri to Damaturu highway is slowly becoming a highway of death and uncertainty for commuters plying the roads on daily basis.
The security forces of the operation Hadinkai have been recording victories in the fight against insurgency with the arrest of two Logistics suppliers of the group.
However, despite the success achieved by the NA, the insurgent had continued to intensify attacks on the highway and other villages.
They had also attacked Abori a village neighboring Damboa and burned down some structures in the Internally displaced Persons (IDPs) camp.
The attack which occurred at around 5 pm last Monday is seeing as a major setback and that it calls for an establishment of a permanent military presence in the villages.
