BRAVEIT Applauds Military Gains Against Terrorists, Criminal Elements

Dr. Muhammad Sani, National Coordinator, Building Resilience Against Violent Extremism, Insurgency and Terrorism (BRAVEIT), in a press release, applauds the impressive strides Nigerian Military have so far made in the ongoing war against Boko Haram and Islamic West Africa Province (ISWAP).

The string of successive victories the federal forces have recorded over the insurgents, in conjunction with their sub-regional allies from Cameroon, Niger and Chad, is proof of the effectiveness of the new stratagem to the conflict and seems to have radically transformed the symmetry of the raging war in the north-east.

Dr. Muhammad however bemoans the wanton spate of violent attacks and heinous crimes orchestrated and perpetrated by terrorists, armed bandits, kidnappers, pirates, ritualists, oil vandals, and militia groups, among other criminal elements.

BRAVEIT however noted that the few occasional skirmishes did not deter the determinations of troops who always rose to the occasion with superior firepower. The group is extremely proud of the efforts of security agencies towards tackling insecurity permanently in the land.and full of immense praise for the remarkable strides recorded by the Army in particular.

Dr. Muhammad Sani told the press that ordinarily, some of these domestic crimes are not part of military statutory and constitutional mandates. However, the Nigerian Army, first under the leadership of Lt. Gen. Tukur Yusuf Buratai, current Nigeria’s Ambassador to the Republic of Benin; and now, under the stewardship of Lt. Gen. Faruq Yahaya, has greatly helped other sister security agencies stem the tide of internal unrests.

BRAVEIT reports that no fewer than 36,000 ISWAP-Boko Haram insurgents and their families, between Last July and March this year, renounced terrorism under the watch of the current Chief of Army Staff, COAS, Gen. Faruk Yahaya.

The insurgents continue to suffer devastating defeats in the last three months as troops of the Joint Task Force, Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) neutralised 126 Boko Haram and Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists in the North-East.

Taking into cognizance the landmark efforts of the COAS and the Nigerian Army, BRAVEIT is confident that the days of the monsterous terrorists are numbered, while its end is nigh.

Dr. Muhammad Sani caution politicians and detractors of the Nigerian Army from politicizing every security issue, and calls on teeming patriotic citizens to continue to lend their unalloyed support to the Nigerian Army, and the ongoing military operations by troops of the Nigerian Army.
