The Concerned Citizens of Northeast (CCNE) has commended the Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), Mallam Mele Kyari, for the successful transformation of the Warri and Port Harcourt refineries.
In a statement signed by its Director of Media, Amb. Auwal Ahmad Umar, the group described the revival of the refineries as a significant milestone for Nigeria’s energy sector, emphasising that it has bolstered the country’s petroleum refining capacity and reenergised the national economy.
The statement highlighted that under Mallam Kyari’s leadership, the rehabilitation process has been conducted with transparency, efficiency, and adherence to international standards. This achievement, the group noted, aligns with the federal government’s vision of reducing dependence on imported refined products, stimulating economic growth, and creating thousands of jobs for Nigerians.
“By prioritizing strategic investments and leveraging innovative technology, Mallam Kyari has set a benchmark for excellence in the oil and gas industry,” the CCNE said, urging Nigerians to rally behind the NNPC in its quest to reposition the country in the global energy sector.
The group also called on stakeholders to continue supporting Kyari’s transformative leadership, expressing optimism that these efforts will enhance Nigeria’s economic resilience and ensure long-term energy security.
The rehabilitation of the Warri and Port Harcourt refineries is seen as a critical step in addressing the nation’s refining challenges and solidifying its position as a key player in the global energy landscape.
