Dangote Food Intervention Brings Joy to Host Communities in Kogi

The Food Intervention Programme initiated by the Aliko Dangote Foundation (ADF) has elicited excitement and gratitude from representatives of various host communities and ethnic groups in Kogi State, where Dangote Cement Plc and Dangote Coal Mines Limited are located.

At the Dangote Cement Plc in Obajana, Engr Idowu Isenibi, the Bajana of Obajana, lauded the timely intervention, describing it as a generous gesture during a period of need. He expressed the community’s commitment to safeguarding Dangote’s investments and pledged unwavering support.

The ADF allocated N15 billion for the Food Intervention Programme, which received commendation from representatives of different religions and ethnic groups. Pastor Pius Ushie, representing the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), hailed Dangote’s benevolence, highlighting its positive impact on the impoverished and vulnerable in the state.

Similarly, Mallam Saidu Adamu, Deputy Chief Imam, praised Dangote’s contributions to peace, security, and economic development in Kogi State, emphasisng the Islamic principle of feeding the poor.

Ismail Adetunji and Daiko Gideon, representing the Yoruba and Igala communities respectively, expressed gratitude and pledged continued support.

Ademola Adeyemi, General Manager of Social Performance, reiterated the Foundation’s commitment to alleviating economic hardship in Nigeria, thanking the communities for their support.

Alhaji Sanusi Abdulkadir, representing the Aliko Dangote Foundation, assured continued efforts in giving back to society.

In Ankpa Local Government Area, home to Dangote Coal Mines Limited, community leaders including Husseini Christian, Ismail Yakubu, and Peter Adejoh commended the Foundation’s food donation, acknowledging its positive impact on community relations and economic realities.

Abdullahi Saidu and Abdullahi Garba Muhammad, representing the Onupi and Ajobe-Ofeanyaka communities respectively, expressed gratitude for the Foundation’s support and affirmed their unwavering backing for the company’s initiatives.
