Don Jazzy Clears the Air on Old UK Police Incident After Bankulli’s Story Resurfaces

Music producer Don Jazzy has reacted to a resurfaced story about an old incident involving UK police, after his former associate, Bankulli, shared a version of the event during a recent gathering.

Bankulli had narrated that in Don Jazzy’s early hustle days in London, he fell asleep while driving home from a show, crashed his car, removed the number plate and fled when police arrived — allegedly because retrieving the damaged vehicle would cost more than fixing it. The story sparked mixed reactions online, with one X user even suggesting the case could be reopened if Don Jazzy returned to the UK.

Responding, Don Jazzy set the record straight and urged fans not to panic.

According to him, the events did not happen the way Bankulli described. He clarified that he did not run from the police, but actually waited for them at the scene.

In his words:
“Lol no panic. It’s been so long, so he doesn’t remember the story exactly. I actually waited for the police. They came and gave me a breathalyser to determine if I was drunk. I wasn’t, but the car was impounded. The fine to collect the car back was more than the cheap car, so I left it with them lol.”

Don Jazzy explained that he abandoned the vehicle only because the retrieval fee was higher than the value of the car, not because he was evading the law.

His clarification has since calmed concerns, while also offering fans a humorous glimpse into his early struggles abroad.
