According to Kouyateh, life on the continent must not be determined by privilege but by rights, stressing that access to education should be guaranteed to every child regardless of social or economic background.
He urged African states to declare education a continental emergency, arguing that meaningful development and long-term prosperity cannot be achieved while large numbers of children are denied the opportunity to acquire knowledge.
“Education must be recognized as a fundamental right for every African child,” Kouyateh said. “If Africa is to be truly free and prosperous, education must be free, accessible, and inclusive.”
The Kouyateh emphasized that knowledge remains the foundation of empowerment, innovation, and self-reliance, noting that nations that invest in education secure their future.
“Knowledge is power,” he added, urging leaders across the continent to take decisive action to ensure that no child is left behind due to poverty.
