EFCC Trains 102 Newly Recruited CCB Officers in Investigation, Enforcement

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has commenced a four-week Basic Investigation and Enforcement Training Programme for 102 newly recruited officers of the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB).

The training began on Monday, August 10, 2026, at the EFCC Academy in Karu, Abuja, as part of efforts to strengthen investigative capacity, professionalism, discipline and ethical conduct within the CCB.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, EFCC Executive Chairman Ola Olukoyede described the programme as a significant milestone in the relationship between both institutions, noting that it was the first time the EFCC would host and train newly recruited CCB officers.

Represented by the Acting Commandant of the EFCC Academy, Assistant Commander of EFCC (ACE1) Joseph Ogwiji, Olukoyede said the initiative goes beyond a conventional training programme, describing it as a new chapter in institutional collaboration and capacity development.

He stressed the importance of equipping officers with the knowledge and practical skills required to effectively investigate cases, enforce relevant laws and uphold the highest standards of professional conduct.

Also speaking, the Chairman of the CCB, Dr Abdullahi Usman Bello, said the partnership between the two institutions was crucial to the Federal Government’s efforts to promote integrity, accountability and ethical conduct in the public service.

Bello urged the trainees to approach the programme with seriousness and dedication, noting that the training would prepare them to effectively discharge the constitutional mandate of the CCB.

He said the Bureau’s responsibilities include promoting transparency, preventing conflicts of interest and contributing to the development of a public service that Nigerians can trust.

The trainees were further charged to uphold integrity, discipline, professionalism and confidentiality, while ensuring strict compliance with the law in the discharge of their duties.

The four-week programme is expected to enhance the officers’ investigative and enforcement competencies while strengthening collaboration between the EFCC and CCB in the broader fight for integrity and accountability in public service.
