Eid-el-Maulud: Tinubu charges Muslims to pray for Nigeria

President Bola Tinubu, on Tuesday, encouraged Muslims worldwide to pray for Nigeria, saying the country is at a critical moment as his administration takes “all necessary measures to make the country secure and economically viable.”

“We need the citizenry’s full support in the form of patriotism, patience, and prayers,” Tinubu said in a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, headed ‘Eid-el-Maulud: Imbibe the values of Prophet Muhammad, Tinubu tells Muslims.’

Tinubu greeted Muslims in Nigeria and around the world on this year’s Eid-el-Maulud festival and urged them to follow the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

He stated that, in addition to commemorating the Holy Prophet’s birthday, the period should be used for introspection and intense prayer.

“Adherents should make deliberate efforts to adhere to the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

“There are great lessons of devotion, perseverance, tolerance, humility, and selflessness that we can all learn from the life of the Prophet,” the President said.

He urged religious leaders to use the time to pray for the country and to encourage their followers to draw relevant lessons from the life of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in their commitment to the country.
