Emir urges Nigerians to live in peace, embrace one another

The Emir of Lafia, Justice Sidi Bage ( rtd), has urged Nigerians to live in peace and tolerate one another for the overall development of the country.

Bage, who is the Chairman of Nasarawa State Traditional Council of Chiefs, made the call on Saturday while commissioning a Central Mosque in Akaleku, Obi Local Government Area of the state.

It was gathered that the mosque was built and donated by Amb. Isaac Kigbu, the President of  Eggon Youth Movement (EYM) worldwide.

The complex was named “Hon Muktar Aliyu Betera Central Mosque, Akaleku”.

 Betera is the Chairman of the House Committee on Appropriation in the House of Representatives.

The first-class traditional ruler commended the philanthropist for the gesture and prayed to God to bless him abundantly.

The emir of Lafia urged the Muslim faithful in the area to ensure effective utilisation of the mosque.

The emir urged parents to give adequate attention to the education of their children/wards for societal development.

He also urged the residents of the state and other Nigerians to be law-abiding, respect constituted authority and be their brother’s keepers.

Earlier, the President of Eggon Youth Movement ( EYM), who is also the Chairman of the Akyenyi Kigbu Memorial Foundation, said that the gesture was part of his continued commitment to promoting religious activities in the locality.

He appreciated Alhaji Muktar Aliyu Betera, the Chairman, House Committee on Appropriation and others for their support of him.

The president restated his continued determination to key into good policies and programmes that would have a direct bearing on the lives of the widows, orphans, less privileged ones and other Nigerians.

The News Agency of Nigeria ( NAN) reports that the event was attended by traditional rulers, religious leaders, politicians and other well-wishers.
