#EndBadGovernance Protest: Fatherland Front For Growth and Development Initiative Urges Organisers to Embrace Peace, Dialogue

In light of the nationwide protest which has already begun in some parts of the country, the Fatherland Front For Growth and Development Initiative, a prominent socio-economic and political advocacy group, has called for a reconsideration of the demonstration.
In a press release jointly signed by its Chairman and Secretary, Rear Admiral Abdul Adamu (Rtd) and Dr. AK Peters respectively, the organisation’s Board of Trustees and Management expressed their concerns regarding the potential consequences of the protest, which aims to address bad governance in Nigeria.
The group acknowledged the constitutional right of citizens to protest but highlighted the importance of government and security agencies being aware of the organisers behind any such events.
Given the current economic and political climate in the country, the group fears that the protest could be hijacked by hoodlums, leading to looting, destruction of property, and loss of lives.
“Times are not good, but resorting to any protest will worsen the already bad situation and cause untold hardship to the ordinary man who is already in pain,” the statement read.
The group urged the protest organisers to consider peaceful dialogue and place their demands on the negotiation table rather than taking to the streets.
While recognising the patriotic intentions of the protest planners, the organisation emphasised that the current federal government, under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is only one year into its tenure and should be given more time to address the nation’s issues.
The Initiative also called on the President and his team to engage with the protest leaders to reach a mutually beneficial agreement.
In conclusion, the Fatherland Front For Growth and Development Initiative firmly opposed the protest, warning that it could lead to dire consequences and further hardships for the Nigerian populace. The organisation urged all parties involved to seek peaceful solutions to the country’s challenges.
