The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has rescued a newborn baby girl who was found abandoned inside a carton along a road in Galadima, Abuja.
The discovery marks the third case of an abandoned baby reported within the FCT in the past two weeks, raising concerns over the increasing cases of newborns being left in vulnerable conditions.
The Police Public Relations Officer of the FCT Command, SP Josephine Adeh, expressed concern over the development and appealed to members of the public to provide any useful information that could assist the police in identifying and locating the baby’s parents or family members.
She urged anyone with relevant information to contact the nearest police station or the FCT Police Command to assist in ensuring the child is reunited with her family and that those responsible are identified.
