Finance Minister, CBN Governor Sign MoU to Strengthen Fiscal, Monetary Policy Coordination
The Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Taiwo Oyedele, and the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Olayemi Cardoso, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen coordination between fiscal and monetary policies and promote greater macroeconomic stability.
The framework is aimed at improving policy consistency and information sharing between the Federal Ministry of Finance and the CBN, while strengthening economic forecasting and supporting efforts to sustainably reduce inflation.
The agreement is also expected to support a more coordinated approach to promoting investment, economic growth and job creation.
By formalising collaboration between the two institutions, the MoU reinforces their shared commitment to sound economic management and building long-term resilience in the Nigerian economy.
