FIRS to Launch Tax Education Book for Children on May 27 with VP Shettima, Top Dignitaries Expected

As part of the 2025 Children’s Day celebration, the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), in collaboration with Arojah Concepts and Sprezzatura Publishing Ltd, is set to publicly unveil a new educational book titled “Taxation: Essential Knowledge for Nigerian Children.”
According to a press release made available to our correspondent on Monday, the event is scheduled for Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at 10:00 AM, at Merit House, Aguiyi Ironsi Street, Maitama, Abuja.
Authored by Arabinrin Aderonke Ejiura Blessing Haruna and edited by Dr. M.S. Abubakar, the book is designed as a simplified guide to taxation for secondary school students. It aims to equip Nigerian children with a foundational understanding of taxation, financial literacy, and civic responsibility.
Chairman of FIRS, Dr. Zacch Adedeji, will serve as the Chief Host, while the Vice President of Nigeria, H.E. Senator Kashim Shettima, is billed to attend as the Very Special Guest of Honour.
A host of dignitaries are expected at the ceremony, including:
- Senator Abdulaziz Yar’adua, Chairman, Senate Committee on Army
- Dr. Aliyu Modibbo, Former Minister of the FCT
- Hon. Abdulmumin Jibrin, Member, House of Representatives
- Hajiya Aisha Garba, Executive Secretary, UBEC
- Mrs. Ifueko M. Omoigui, Former Chairperson, FIRS
- Mr. Babatunde Fowler, Former Chairman, FIRS
- Senator Mutanri Dan Dutse, Chairman, Senate Committee on TETFund
Also scheduled to grace the occasion are:
- HRM King Sir Lenu Tsaro Igbara, the Gbene Teeko IX and Paramount Ruler of Northern-Bori, Rivers State, as Royal Father of the Day
- Dr. Umaru Abdul Mutallab, Chairman of JAIZ Bank, as Distinguished Father of the Day
- Dr. Bissan Ezekiel Dankadi Joseph, Director, Abuja Business School, University of Abuja, who will review the book
- Alhaji Nasiru Dano, the Saduanan Dutse of Jigawa State, as Chief Launcher
Organized and managed by Arojah Concepts, the event will feature book reviews, readings by participating schools, fun games, and dance drama performances. It is expected to make a significant impact in fostering early tax education and nurturing responsible future citizens.
