The Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Shehu Mohammed, on Monday participated in the signing ceremony of a strategic partnership agreement between the Nigerian Institute of Transport Technology (NITT) and ASIA Arab Investment Nigeria Limited for the development and deployment of the Smart National Transport Data Bank (S-NTDB).
The agreement marks a significant step towards strengthening Nigeria’s transport data management system through the deployment of innovative, technology-driven solutions designed to support effective planning, policy development, safety interventions, and sustainable transportation growth.
The Smart National Transport Data Bank initiative is expected to provide a centralized platform for collecting, managing, and analyzing transport-related data, enabling stakeholders to make informed decisions based on reliable and accurate information.
Speaking at the event, Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed commended the partnership and described it as a forward-looking initiative that aligns with national efforts to modernize the transport sector through digital transformation and data-driven governance.
He reaffirmed the commitment of the Federal Road Safety Corps to supporting initiatives that harness technology and innovation to improve road safety, transportation efficiency, and national development.
According to him, access to accurate and timely transport data remains critical to addressing emerging transportation challenges, improving safety outcomes, and enhancing service delivery across the sector.
The partnership between NITT and ASIA Arab Investment Nigeria Limited is expected to contribute significantly to the development of a more efficient, integrated, and intelligent transportation system capable of supporting Nigeria’s economic growth and mobility needs.
