…As pledges improved their welfare In a recent operational visit to Katsina State, the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Gwabin Musa, called on troops to deepen their patriotism, commitment, and professionalism in fulfilling their constitutional duties.
He pledged to enhance their welfare and ensure the provision of adequate equipment to combat insecurity effectively.
This was revealed in a press statement signed by the Director of Defence Information, Brigadier General Tukur Gusau, and shared with newsmen in Abuja.
During the visit, General Musa assessed the operational readiness of the troops and reiterated the importance of military and civilian collaboration in addressing security challenges.
While visiting Governor Umar Dikko Radda, General Musa expressed his gratitude for the governor’s continued support to the Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN) and praised his developmental strides in the state.
He emphasised that his visit was mandated by the president to review the Joint Operation Areas in the region.
Governor Radda thanked General Musa for his efforts to provide lasting solutions to the security situation and assured him of the state’s ongoing partnership with the AFN.
He also appealed for an increased security presence in southern Katsina.
In a related visit, General Musa paid condolences to the Yar’adua family following the death of Hajia Dada Musa Yar’adua, the family matriarch and mother of the late President Umaru Musa Yar’adua.
Describing her as a woman of virtue, he praised her contributions to the nation’s development and offered prayers for her soul, urging the family to uphold her legacy.
