Gombe: “We’re working to bridge vacuum left by previous administration – Inuwa

Gombe state governor, Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya has stated that his team is working to bridge some space left by the previous administration in fast-tracking development and bringing progress to the people of Gombe.

The Governor disclosed this at the commission of a road in new GRA Gombe which was named in honor of the Caretaker Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC) and Governor of Yobe state, Mai Mala Buni.

Governor Yahaya said that there was a gap created between his administration and that of former governor Muhammad Danjuma Goje: “That somehow created a scene that the people tend to feel that there are a set of people that need to enjoy the dividends of democracy while others are abandoned”.

“That is why while trying to bridge this gap we ambitiously embarked on providing 100 kilometers of roads in each of our local government, so that, we will connect our rural populace with the urban centers.

As of today, we have covered about 350 kilometers and by the time we actualize the arraignment we have with the Rural Access Mobility and Commercial Project (RAM) of the federal ministry of finance and agriculture we would have covered all the Network 11-100, maybe with a different categorization of roads and our people will be effectively covered with roads network in Gombe state,” Governor Yahaya explained.

He added stating that the Mai Mala Buni road in new GRA Gombe was part of phase six of Gombe township roads projects and that the phase covers about 36 kilometers of roads. According to him: “So far, we have covered close to 80 percent of the projects in just two years and I hope that by the time we complete this tenure, we would have gone very far in fulfilling our pledge on providing the Network 11-100”.

Addressing newsmen shortly after commissioning the road and inspection of the ongoing gully-erosion control project in Gombe State University, Governor Mai Mala described Inuwa as a truly progressive governor.

He said: “He is right on track and as a governor, I have seen his efforts and he is delivering, we are proud of him and as a party, we are encouraging him to do more.

“I have seen it, because when we visit a city like Gombe what we normally do is to watch the faces of the people on the streets, how people are jubilating, associating with him, shows clearly that he is really working and delivering. He is actually a progressive governor”.

“We have a manifesto through which we are carrying out our projects and you can see starting from to others APC states all the governors are working delivering for their people,” said Mai Mala.
