Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia, has praised his administration’s strides in the education sector, which he says are already delivering visible results.

Alia made this statement on Sunday following the recognition of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) with the prestigious GovTech Public Service Award for excellence in ICT integration.

In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Tersoo Kula, the governor highlighted several digital initiatives his administration has introduced since taking office.

These initiatives, according to him, include the implementation of a centralised and automated payroll system, as well as a comprehensive audit of SUBEB staff.

“One of our major reforms is the introduction of Computer-Based Tests (CBT) for teachers’ recruitment, ensuring transparency and fairness in the process,” Alia said.

“This effort contributes directly to President Bola Tinubu’s Digital Transformation Agenda in the Public Service,” he added.

Governor Alia assured the people of Benue that the reforms initiated by his administration will yield positive results across all sectors of the state.

Additionally, the Chairman of Benue SUBEB, Dr. Grace Adagba, was honoured with the ‘Distinguished GovTech Trailblazers Award’ for her exceptional leadership in driving ICT integration within the board.
