Gov Inuwa Yahaya Honoured as The Sun Newspaper Governor of the Year 2023

Barely two weeks after clinching the prestigious New Telegraph Governor of the Year Award in Education, Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State has once again been recognized for his exemplary leadership.
At a ceremony held at Eko Hotel and Suites in Victoria Island, Lagos, Governor Inuwa Yahaya was crowned The Sun Newspaper Governor of the Year 2023.
The event sparkled with accolades as Governor Inuwa Yahaya’s citation, heralding his outstanding qualities as a leader, resonated through the venue, drawing thunderous applause.
The Deputy Governor of Gombe State, Dr. Manassah Daniel Jatau, accompanied by the Minister of Transportation, Sen. Saidu Ahmed Alkali, received the award on behalf of Governor Inuwa Yahaya.
The Sun Publishing Limited, known for its two decades of quality journalism in Nigeria, bestowed this honour upon Governor Inuwa Yahaya in acknowledgement of his visionary leadership and remarkable achievements in various sectors including infrastructure, healthcare, education, environment, water supply, and human capital development.
Chairman of the occasion and Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Sen. George Akume, praised Governor Inuwa Yahaya’s leadership, highlighting his consistent commitment to excellence and dedication to public service. Sen. Akume emphasized that this recognition is a testament to Governor Inuwa Yahaya’s impactful contributions and serves as an inspiration to others.
Expressing gratitude for the award, Governor Inuwa Yahaya, through his deputy, thanked the Sun Publishing company for recognizing his government’s efforts. He described the award as not just an honour to him but to his entire team and the people of Gombe State.
The Governor reiterated his administration’s commitment to providing quality governance through the Gombe State Development Plan (2021-2030), aimed at transforming the state and ensuring sustainable development.
Also, Minister of Transport Sen. Saidu Alkali praised Governor Inuwa Yahaya’s accomplishments, noting how he has elevated Gombe State as a model of governance and leadership.
The awards ceremony, chaired by Sen. George Akume, was attended by dignitaries including Governors of Ogun and Enugu States, Minister of Transport Sen. Saidu Ahmed Alkali, Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy Bosun Tijjani, Labour Party Presidential candidate Peter Obi, Wife of Kwara State Governor, Oni of Ife, former House of Reps member Hon. Umar Ahmed Sulaiman, captains of industry, and media executives.
