Governor Inuwa Yahaya Rallies Bayelsa APC Supporters in Face of Legal Hurdles

By Matthew Eloyi

In a remarkable display of leadership and unity of purpose, Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State, who serves as the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Campaign Council for the Bayelsa Governorship Election, led a high-powered team in a strategic engagement with Bayelsa APC stakeholders in Yenagoa on Saturday.

The primary objective of Governor Inuwa Yahaya’s visit, along with the APC leadership, was to rekindle the spirits of party members and address their concerns following a recent court judgment that disqualified the APC’s Governorship candidate, Timipreye Sylva, from the November 11 election. Originally scheduled for Saturday, the flag-off of the APC campaign was postponed by the national party leadership.

However, Governor Inuwa Yahaya, who is at the forefront of the APC campaign in Bayelsa State, met with critical stakeholders in Yenagoa and left supporters with encouraging and uplifting words. He urged them to stand firm and assured them of the party’s unwavering support as they continued their journey toward a triumphant electoral victory on November 11.

Confidently, he declared, “We’ll emerge stronger from this temporary legal setback. Don’t slow down on the campaigns. Take the message to the nooks, crannies, and the creeks. We are here to show solidarity with you and to assure you that we are resolute in our commitment to deliver Sylva. The President is with you in this journey, the national leadership of the party is with you, and all of us stand by you in this fight to deliver APC and Timipreye Sylva. We will triumph in Bayelsa on the 11th of November by the grace of God.”

The APC Deputy National Chairman South, Chief Emma Eneukwu, representing the National Chairman, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, reiterated the party’s steadfast dedication to securing victory in Bayelsa.

He made it clear, saying, “We will not rest until victory is achieved. Bayelsa is a low-hanging fruit ripe for the taking, and we will pluck it with ease. We will stand with you throughout this struggle. Continue with the campaigns and don’t let the antics of the PDP discourage you or hinder your resolve.”

Also speaking, the Vice National Chairman of South-South, Chief Victor Giadom, praised Governor Inuwa Yahaya’s inspirational leadership, describing him as a man with a remarkable track record and astute political acumen.

Giadom emphasized, “We deeply appreciate you, Your Excellency. You have shown character and exemplary leadership in this assignment. We commend your courage, and we thank you for leading the way.”

“The South-South region holds immense potential, and visionary leadership is essential. So I urge our party members not to be disheartened by the high court judgment; this is just a court of first instance. Just carry on with the campaigns, we’ll certainly emerge victorious.”
