Gunmen Abduct Bayo Adelabu’s Sister, Twin Sons in Ibadan
Armed gunmen have abducted Mrs. Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul, the younger sister of former Minister of Power and APC governorship aspirant in Oyo State, Bayo Adelabu, along with her 12-year-old twin sons, Peter and Paul, in Ibadan.
The abduction reportedly occurred at about 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, while Mrs. John-Paul, 43, was taking the children to school in the Oyo State capital.
According to a statement issued by the family and signed by Chief Adelabu’s media aide, Comrade Femi Awogboro, the victims were intercepted and forcibly taken away by armed men along their route.
The identities of the abductors and their motives remain unknown, while details surrounding the incident were still sketchy as of the time of filing this report.
The family confirmed the abduction and appealed to security agencies to intensify efforts to ensure the safe and speedy release of the victims.
Security operatives have reportedly been alerted and are expected to commence investigations and rescue operations aimed at locating the abductors and securing the freedom of Mrs. John-Paul and her children.
The incident has generated concern among residents and political associates, further drawing attention to the challenge of kidnapping and insecurity in parts of the country.
