The Special Adviser to the President on Policy and Coordination, Hadiza Bala Usman, has encouraged senior female officers of the Nigeria Police Force to demonstrate bold leadership, pursue excellence and build resilience in their careers.
She gave the charge on Thursday while serving as a guest facilitator at the Women Police Leadership Programme (WPLP) Cohort III in Abuja.
Speaking during Module 4, themed “Leadership Voice and Strategic Visibility,” Bala Usman urged the participants to embrace the balance between professional responsibilities and family life, describing it as a source of strength rather than a limitation.
Drawing from her experience in public service, she shared practical lessons on leadership, strategic visibility and effective communication, while encouraging the officers to position themselves for greater responsibility and impact within the Nigeria Police Force.
The Women Police Leadership Programme was organised by the Nigeria Police Force in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Rule of Law and Human Rights Team, with support from the Government of Germany.
The programme brought together Superintendents of Police, Chief Superintendents of Police and Assistant Commissioners of Police from across the country as part of efforts to strengthen leadership capacity among female officers in the Force.
