The Honourable Minister of Defence, H.E. Muhammed Badaru Abubabar, CON, mni, embarked on an official working visit to military formations in Kano State over the weekend, assessing their facilities and operations.
Accompanied by key officials, the Minister visited several prominent military establishments, including the 3 Brigade of the Nigerian Army at Bukavo Barracks Kano, the Nigerian Air Force 455 Base Kano, and the Nigerian Navy Logistics Colleges in Dawakin Tofa.
During the visit to the 3 Brigade of the Nigerian Army, Brigadier General M.A. Sadiq, the Brigade Commander, provided a comprehensive tour of the facilities, showcasing the readiness of the Brigade.
Subsequently, the Minister proceeded to the Nigerian Air Force 455 Base Kano, where Group Captain M. Suleiman, the Base Commander, briefed him on the operational status of the base and its facilities.
Continuing his tour, the Minister visited the Nigerian Navy Logistics Colleges in Dawakin Tofa, where Commodore J.K. Adedaji, the College Commander, presented an overview of the college’s academic activities and infrastructure.
Speaking after the tour, the Minister emphasised the importance of the visit in gaining insight into the operations of various military formations. He commended the officers for their dedication to securing the nation against both internal and external threats.
“I urge you to remain vigilant and proactive in safeguarding areas vulnerable to attacks by bandits and terrorists. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu remain commitment to providing necessary resources to enhance the military’s effectiveness in fulfilling their professional duties, and so we must reward his commitment with our own commitment.”
The visit underscored the government’s commitment to supporting the military in its efforts to maintain peace and security across the nation.
