In his address, the police chief described the ceremony as more than a symbolic event, noting that elevation to the rank of DIG represents decades of dedicated service, professional excellence, and strong leadership within the Nigeria Police Force.
He urged the newly promoted officers to provide strategic direction for the Force, strengthen internal discipline, and drive reforms aimed at improving operational effectiveness. According to him, policing strategies must remain responsive to evolving security challenges facing the country.
IGP Disu also encouraged the officers to utilise their experience in intelligence-led policing, operational coordination, inter-agency collaboration, and accountability, while working to inspire confidence within the Force and build public trust.
The Inspector-General expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his support, and commended the Police Service Commission for ensuring transparency and professionalism in the promotion process.
He also acknowledged the families of the newly decorated officers for their support and sacrifices, which he said had contributed significantly to the officers’ distinguished careers.
