INEC Makes Preliminary Voters’ Register Available Online Ahead of 2027 Elections

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced plans to make the Preliminary Register of Voters for the 2027 General Election available online to improve public access and transparency.

In a statement, the Commission said the online register would be accessible through its platform at (https://display.inecnigeria.org)(https://display.inecnigeria.org?utm_source=chatgpt.com), following concerns from Nigerians and other stakeholders about the need to provide online access in addition to the physical display.

INEC said it conducted the physical display of the Preliminary Register of Voters at Registration Areas nationwide from October 9 to 15, 2026, in line with Section 19 of the Electoral Act, 2026.

The exercise provided registered voters with the opportunity to check their particulars and submit claims and objections as prescribed by law.

According to the Commission, the online publication is an additional measure to complement the physical display and enable more Nigerians to access the register.

INEC added that it was still processing claims and objections arising from the exercise in accordance with the Electoral Act, 2026.

The Commission said the process would lead to the certification and publication of the Final Register of Voters on December 15, 2026.

INEC appreciated Nigerians and other stakeholders for their continued interest and constructive engagement, reaffirming its commitment to transparency, accountability and the implementation of the Electoral Act, 2026 to ensure credible elections.
