Kogi: Ododo knocks Gov Bello’s administration, dumps APC for AA

Yahaya Ododo, a retired military officer, has attacked Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello, claiming that his administration has failed the people of the state.

Ododo, who recently defected from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to form the Action Alliance (AA) in Ankpa, has called for a power transition in the state.

The former APC chieftain, who joined AA under the auspices of the Ankpa Forum of Political Unity, stated that his decision to abandon APC was based on the desire to incorporate equity, fairness, and justice in the State’s governorship history.

He said the present administration got to Lugard House by accident, pointing out that it is the time of Kogi West to produce the next Governor of the State.

While openly declaring his support for the AA governorship candidate, Otunba Olayinka Braimoh, Ododo said, “I have been in the politics of Kogi State for long. I have worked for a former minister for justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Chief Bayo Ojo; and former Deputy Chief of Staff to the President, Chief Olushola Akanmode and we are ready to work for the AA governorship candidate in the forthcoming election.”

In addition, Samuel Omale, a former veteran of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ojoku Ward, Ankpa Local Government Area, who just joined AA with his supporters, tasked the new members to canvass support for the party in the nooks and crannies of the local government.

Braimoh responded by telling the new inductees and supporters during the defection ceremony that he is on a mission to lift Kogi State and its people out of poverty.

He sought additional votes from the Ankpa electorate.
