OurNigeria News Magazine has announced the nomination of His Excellency, Ambassador Sheikh Al-Moustapha Kouyateh, Ambassador-at-Large and Special Envoy on Special Missions of the President of the Republic of Liberia, for the Pan-African Diplomatic Excellence Award at the 7th OurNigeria News Awards.
The nomination recognises Ambassador Kouyateh’s outstanding contributions to diplomacy, peace-building, and strategic engagement across Africa. The official nomination was conveyed in a letter which also informed the Liberian envoy that the award ceremony will hold on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at the Abuja Continental Hotel. The event will be held under the distinguished chairmanship of Lt. Gen. Tukur Yusuf Buratai (Rtd), CFR.
According to OurNigeria News Magazine, the honour followed a careful evaluation of Ambassador Kouyateh’s diplomatic record, with particular attention to his role in high-level presidential assignments, international mediation efforts, and special diplomatic missions across the African continent. The magazine noted that his work reflects a rare blend of trust, discretion, and effectiveness in advancing dialogue, stability, and cooperation among African states and institutions.

The organisers explained that the Pan-African Diplomatic Excellence Award is reserved for individuals whose leadership embodies the ideals of Pan-African solidarity, quiet diplomacy, and strategic engagement—principles regarded as critical to Africa’s peace, security, and sustainable development.
They further noted that Ambassador Kouyateh’s contributions align strongly with the theme of the 2025 OurNigeria News Awards, titled “Resilience and Renewal: Inspiring Change, Celebrating Nigerian Excellence.”
The organisers disclosed that other confirmed recipients for the 2025/2026 OurNigeria News Awards include Gen. Christopher Gwabin Musa as Man of the Year; Mr. Charles Chuka Aniagolu of ARISE TV as Journalist of the Year; Comrade Uba Sani, Governor of Kaduna State, as Icon of National Unity and Patriotism; Senator Aisha Ahmed (Binani) as Politician of the Year; Mrs. Grace Atashe Jerry as Ability in Disability Award of the Year; and Dr. Charles Awuzie as Entrepreneur of the Year, among others.
The 7th OurNigeria News Awards forms part of the magazine’s annual initiative to celebrate Africans whose leadership, service, and innovation continue to positively shape society and strengthen continental cooperation.
OurNigeria News stated that Ambassador Sheikh Al-Moustapha Kouyateh’s consistent dedication to diplomacy, peace-building, and Pan-African cooperation was central to its decision to nominate him for the Pan-African Diplomatic Excellence Award.
