In a resolute move to fulfill its mandate, the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) is currently bolstering its surveillance capabilities, according to Major General Ibrahim Sallau Ali, the esteemed Force Commander.

During the recent graduation ceremony of the second batch of drone pilots in Sector 1, which was held on a momentous Friday, the 20th of October 2023, in Ndjamena, Gen Ali made this significant announcement.

The ceremony not only served as a platform for celebrating the pilots’ achievements but also witnessed a remarkable gesture from the European Union.

Through the Stablac Project of COGINTA Nongovernmental Organisation, the European Union made a notable contribution by donating two long-range drones and a vehicle.

General Ali expressed heartfelt gratitude for the collaborative partnership forged with the European Union, emphasizing the pivotal role of cooperation in advancing the MNJTF’s objectives.

The Force Commander reaffirmed the unwavering dedication of the MNJTF to fulfill its mandate, commending the collective efforts of all sectors within the organization.

By fostering unity and collaboration, the MNJTF strives to enhance regional security and bring about a safe and secure environment in areas affected by the activities of Boko Haram and other terrorist groups.

It is worth mentioning that a similar generous donation, consisting of two drones and a utility vehicle, was previously presented to Sector 2 Chad in July of this year.

As the MNJTF diligently pursues its mission, it aims to facilitate the implementation of comprehensive stabilization programs by member states of the Lake Chad Basin Commission and actively support humanitarian operations.
