NAHCON Seeks Foreign Affairs Ministry Support for 2024 Hajj

Alhaji Zikrullah Kunle Hassan, the CEO and Chairman of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), on Thursday, held a meeting with Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, to seek the Ministry’s support on Hajj, Umrah, and consular matters.

According to a statement by Fatima Sanda Usara, Assistant Director Public Affairs, NAHCON, the meeting was hosted at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs headquarters.

During the meeting, Alhaji Kunle Hassan formally introduced the NAHCON institution to the Minister, emphasizing the critical role of the Foreign Ministry in the Hajj organization.

He extended an invitation to Ambassador Tuggar to represent Nigeria as a signatory during the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the 2024 Hajj, scheduled for early January 2024.

The Chairman explained that the early invitation was to allow the Minister sufficient time to include the assignment in his schedule.

In response, Ambassador Tuggar assured the NAHCON Chairman of the Ministry’s readiness to collaborate with the Commission in any way possible to facilitate the affairs of pilgrims and enhance the positive image of the country.

He also expressed his willingness to participate in the MoU signing in January.

Both leaders reached an agreement to work together to improve the positive experience of pilgrims.
