The Director General of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Mrs. Zubaida Umar, has decorated the Head of the NEMA Mission Control Centre (NMCC), Ademola Oriyomi, with his new rank of Navy Captain, urging him to uphold the highest standards of service, discipline, and dedication.
The decoration ceremony, held on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at NEMA Headquarters in Abuja, was performed by the DG, who was assisted by the officer’s wife.
Congratulating Navy Captain Oriyomi, Mrs. Umar described the promotion as a well-deserved recognition of his professionalism, hard work, and unwavering commitment to national duty. She reminded him that his elevation comes with greater expectations.

“To whom much is given, much is expected,” she said, calling on him to redouble his efforts in overseeing the critical responsibilities of the NMCC, especially at a time of heightened emergency management and national security challenges.
In his remarks, Navy Captain Oriyomi expressed deep gratitude to God, the Chief of Naval Staff, the NEMA Director General, his family, colleagues, and friends for their support throughout his career journey. He pledged to remain dedicated to delivering improved service and exceptional performance, noting that the achievement was a shared victory for everyone who contributed to his growth.
The ceremony was attended by NEMA directors, senior military officers, and staff of the agency, who gathered to celebrate the officer’s new milestone.
