NIA DG, Rufai Abubakar resigns after almost seven years in office

After spending almost seven years in office, the Director General of the National Intelligence Agency, NIA, Ahmed Rufai Abubakar has tendered his resignation letter to President Bola Tinubu.
The NIA DG was appointed by the former President, Muhammadu Buhari in January 2018.
Speaking to journalists after tendering his resignation letter, Abubakar said that the President has accepted his resignation, describing his action as a routine thing.
