In a decisive move against insurgency, troops of Operation HADIN KAI launched a coordinated assault on Boko Haram elements entrenched in the notorious Sambisa Forest, resulting in the elimination of five terrorists and the recovery of deadly weapons.
The successful operation, which took place on May 11, 2025, at Ladin Buttu a key operational base for the insurgents was disclosed in a statement signed by Captain Reuben Kovangiya, Acting Deputy Director of Army Public Relations, Theatre Command Operation HADIN KAI.
According to the statement, troops engaged the terrorists in a fierce gunfight, using their superior tactics and firepower to overwhelm the enemy.
In the aftermath of the battle, five loaded AK-47 rifle magazines and other military hardware were recovered at the scene.
Traces of blood discovered along the escape routes of the terrorists suggest that several insurgents sustained injuries while retreating under pressure.
“Security analysts note that Ladin Buttu serves as a vital logistics and movement hub for Boko Haram, making the strike a major blow to the group’s operational capabilities.
Commending the soldiers’ gallantry, the leadership of Operation HADIN KAI reaffirmed their commitment to implementing the strategic vision of the Chief of Army Staff, which emphasizes proactive offensives across all fronts in the fight against terrorism.
