NNPC Ltd Backs National Community Food Bank Initiative at Presidential Villa Launch

NNPC Limited has reaffirmed its commitment to social development as it participated in the launch of the National Community Food Bank Trust Fund and the inauguration of its Board of Trustees at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

The initiative, spearheaded by the First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, is aimed at providing sustainable access to healthy and nutritious food for vulnerable Nigerians, while strengthening community-based nutrition systems across the country.

Representing the Group Chief Executive Officer of NNPC Ltd, Engr. Bashir Bayo Ojulari, the Executive Vice President, Business Services, Sophia Mbakwe, described the programme as a collective national effort to support the most vulnerable segments of society.

She noted that the initiative reflects a broader commitment to improving livelihoods and fostering social stability, adding that it aligns with NNPC Ltd’s Corporate Social Responsibility objectives beyond its core operations in the energy sector.

According to her, the food bank programme is expected to play a critical role in addressing food insecurity while restoring hope in communities facing economic hardship.

The launch marks a significant step in the federal government’s drive to promote inclusive welfare programmes and strengthen support systems for citizens in need.
