NSCDC Commissions Five Strategic Projects to Mark 2026 International Civil Defence Day
In commemoration of the 2026 International Civil Defence Day, the Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ahmed Abubakar Audi, OFR, mni, has commissioned five strategic projects aimed at strengthening the Corps’ operational readiness and infrastructure nationwide.

The commissioning ceremony was conducted physically and virtually at the NSCDC National Headquarters in Abuja. The event was performed by the Commandant General alongside the Board Secretary of the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB), Abdulmalik Jubril, who was represented by Alhaji Abubakar Musa, Deputy Director, Appointment and Promotion. The ceremony was witnessed by senior government officials, security chiefs, and other distinguished guests.
The commissioned projects include a Standard Mini Fire Fighting Station designed to enhance rapid emergency response; a VIP Protection Unit Office Complex named after the First Lady of Nigeria, Oluremi Tinubu, to strengthen high-profile security operations; and a Hydrocarbon and Maritime Security Command and Control Centre named after the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, aimed at improving surveillance and protection of Nigeria’s oil and gas assets. Also commissioned was a 24-Unit Staff Quarters at the National Headquarters to boost personnel welfare.
Additionally, a project at the Bauchi State Command was commissioned virtually by a representative of the state governor.
Speaking at the event, Professor Audi described the projects as a significant milestone in the Corps’ transformation agenda, noting that the new facilities would greatly enhance NSCDC’s capacity to protect critical national infrastructure and respond effectively to emerging security challenges.
He expressed appreciation to Zuma Energy Nigeria Limited and Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited for their partnership and sustained commitment to safeguarding Nigeria’s critical national assets.
