In anticipation of the upcoming Christmas and New Year celebrations, the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Gombe State Command has taken proactive measures to ensure a smooth and secure festive period for residents.

A press release signed by the Command PRO, SC Buhari Saad, revealed that Commandant Muhammad Bello Muazu has deployed a total of seven hundred and eighty (780) personnel, including officers and men, strategically across the state.

According to the statement, the command’s directive, issued by Commandant Muazu, extends to Area Commanders, Divisional Officers, and Tactical Commanders specializing in counter-terrorism, such as the Counter Terrorism Unit (CTU), Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT), and Chemical Biological Radiological Nuclear and Explosives (CBRNE).

Their mission is to guarantee the deployment of ample personnel at vulnerable points throughout the state, securing places of worship, critical infrastructure, designated markets, motor parks, and recreational centres.

Commandant Muazu, in a statement, urged the general public to celebrate in moderation. He assured residents that the NSCDC personnel would exhibit high levels of vigour and professionalism while carrying out their duties. Additionally, he emphasized the commitment of the NSCDC Gombe State Command to maintaining a polite and civil approach while remaining firm in ensuring the security and safety of lives and properties.

As the holiday season approaches, the NSCDC’s presence and preparedness serve as a testament to their dedication to the protection and well-being of the community. The public is encouraged to cooperate with the deployed personnel to ensure a joyous and incident-free celebration.
