The President of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Ali Alimasuya Rabiu, has officially commissioned a state-of-the-art Fellows’ Lounge at the National Engineering Centre (NEC) Headquarters in Abuja.
The newly unveiled facility is a well-furnished relaxation space designed exclusively for distinguished Fellows of the Society, offering a serene environment for informal engagement and light refreshments during official visits to the Secretariat.
Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, Rabiu said the initiative reflects his administration’s commitment to preserving the dignity, status, and sense of belonging among Fellows. He recalled that the project was first announced during his investiture in January as part of efforts to enhance member experience at the national level.
“In furtherance of our commitment to uphold the dignity and status of Fellowship within the Society, we have established this dedicated Fellows’ Lounge at the National Headquarters,” he stated.
The NSE President disclosed that access to the lounge will be restricted to financially up-to-date Fellows, while refreshments will be provided on request at a cost. He added that clear operational guidelines have been put in place to regulate usage and maintain the exclusivity of the facility.
The commissioning marks another milestone in the Society’s ongoing efforts to strengthen institutional standards and improve engagement among its top-tier members.
The Fellows’ Lounge is now officially open to eligible members, reinforcing the NSE’s drive to elevate professionalism and community within Nigeria’s engineering sector.
